She was only FIVE

When Ari was 5 years old her mom and two brothers lived with her aunt, uncle and their kids.  Ari was asleep one day in one of rooms and as she was sleeping a cousin started molesting her. As she was feeling him put his hands in her pants she started waking up, when she opened her eyes she was scared and didn't fully understand what was happening. Within minutes her moms youngest sister walked in on him touching her, she ran out screaming for Ari’s mom, he hurried up took his hands out of her pants and stood up. Ari stayed laying down crying, her mom, dad, aunts and uncle ran in the room and as her aunt was telling them what she saw her dad immediately attacked the cousin. Her mom grabbed her, took her to the bath and checked her. She gave her a bath and then told her to go in the living room, as that was happening everyone was still yelling and fighting. They took her dad out the house to calm him down, her mom and aunt made their cousin leave and no further action was ever made after that. Ari remembers my her aunt telling her mom that she needed to do something about it, but the cops were never called and she  was never talked to about it again.
Ari was FIVE, scared and felt all alone. She really wanted her mom to call the cops but was too scared to tell her. After that she wasn't allowed to sleep in the room anymore, she had to sleep in the living room with her mom. Exactly two nights later as she was sleeping on the couch, next to her mom and her boyfriend (at that time) were sleeping on the floor,  another cousin  came up to her as she was laying on the couch. He started touching her (she wasn't asleep because she was too afraid to fall asleep after the first time) she tried to kick but he grabbed her legs, she called out for her mom twice quietly, but her mom didn't hear her. He put his hand over her mouth and said to be quiet and he won't hurt her, so she did. As he fingered her for what seemed like the longest time ever, she just stared at her mom with tears running down her face wishing she would wake up or hear it happening, but she didn't.  When he was done Ari went to the bathroom and locked herself in there and fell asleep.

She never told her mom because she knew that she wasn't going to do anything, because she didn't call the cops the first time so she just kept it to herself! To this day only him and Ari know what happened.

Who is Ari? She's A Woman....

  1. Wow. Such a sad story. Poor Ari. It is a parent's responsibility to protect their child. I feel so bad for Ari. I hope she eventually spoke out and got the help she needed.

  2. I just want to say that it breaks my heart to know that her mother wouldnt do everything in her power to protect her child, her daughter! I have three daughters my oldest is almost that age and i have twins that are two and there isnt NOTHING in this world that i wouldnt do for them! My heart aches for that little girl and i wish I could have been there for her to help her guide her and protect her!

  3. Shauna here ... With this one, I cried the whole time. When do we, as parents, feel like it's anything less than our jobs to protect our children? The mother of Ari not only should have called the cops but spoke to her daughter about it. All that happened after the first time, I truly believe was a result in the family knowing that the mother would do nothing about it anyways. I say this to Ari; Baby girl, I am sure you are a grown up by now. I want to thank you for having the courage to share your story with us. I want you to know that you never deserved to have that happen to you. I only hope that you take the experience with you and protect your own children as you would've wanted your mother to protect you. Never be scared to stand up for them and NEVER be scared to stand up for yourself. You are an amazing woman and you deserve the world. You deserve to be treated like the QUEEN you are! Thanks again for being so brave! Much love!

  4. Dani Here... I, too cried the entire time I read this story. Then I got mad, like 'Mom" imma need a few words with you... So, to the mom, lady I sure hope you realize the hurt you have caused. Not reporting it was horrible choice, but never talking about it with your little girl is astonishing, it is your duty to make sure that your children are safe and cared for at all times, the well-being of your children comes far before yours! You are in my prayers because for you not to act on that situation only makes me wonder what has happened to you.
Ari, babygirl, thank you so much for sharing this story. Although its filled with anguish and pain, sadness and fear, I see the strength and courage through your words and ability to share it. I pray that you can let go of this pain and flourish with your own children and continue to be a strong woman! Thank you so much for sharing your story with us! <3
